Sípan tombs and another bus ride

Mummies and tombs were great fun! really interesting. The tombs were found in Sipan in 1987m and the main ruler´s tomb was dated as 200AD . Two were lords and one was a shaman, or priest if you will. The first level was a lord, he had copious amounts of beaded necklace, which must have been a bitch to restore. There were also huge nose rings that were shaped like mistaches. and there were owl pendants made out of guilded copper. I think nearly all the ornaments were made from copper, which meant that all the photos of the archeological site were blue clumps of oxidised copper, underneath which was the remains of the person. The name of the people is Moche and they ate barracuda, catfish and octopus (pulpo) and there was a cool symbol for octopus that was a circle with tentacles and then an angry mans face in the centre. No photos allowed though .
There were headrests and knives and tailbone protectors and sceptors. there was also a necklace made up of big palm sized spiders and web ornaments. Lots of things of interest. Photos of the people excavating the site, Walter Alva the leading guy had a beard and an archeologist hat. Oh and there was replicas of the tombs, which had the person of importance in the middle, then pots full of offerings and food for the afterlife. Each tomb also contained a few other people who had to drink poison when the ruler died. There were primary wives , concubines, children to be guards in the next life, and an old man in one, but im not sure why. Made me want to be an archeologist even more than i usually do :P
After the museum we taxi´d back to town and then went to find lunch. Busy place, Chiclyo . Lots of cars and people.
Only a three hour bus today so not too bad...although my back was super sore from yesterday..and my neck is still having trouble couping so that was a pain. I listened to music and napped in all kinds of strange, crumpled positions.
Arrived in Trujillo at our hotel, so nice! theres a pool!!! heres a picture of it since im so useless at uploading photos (maybe tomorrow ill attempt that again)
