Baños adventures: Quad bikes are amazing.

So, big day. We went to the waterfalls just outside of town this morning...rode a safari truck, i usually enjoy them but the wind was quite cold. Besides that it was super fun though. The waterfalls were pretty spectacular, just stopped along the road, theres quite a few so we stopped maybe three times, to take photos....(which ill have to show you another time!! i know! how annoying, telling you about it without the photos) . We also went for a ride on a cable car across the river...i was just a small metal cage, across and then back.. cost 1$.
We stopped at a waterfall and payed 50c to walk down to the bottom of it, it was a nice steep track through a foresty area and came out at, ...a waterfall!! horay.
The ride back was super cold because of all the mist from the waterfall...my moreno gersey smelt like wet dog.

We had some lunch then Nicky and I went to get us a couple of Quad bikes!!! The best afternoon ever! we went up one hill, to a lookout and then to the top where we found a telephone antena and saw a view of the clouds , behind which there is a huge volcano. We didnt see that though. I took a few photos of the mist and coulds then we biked back down the shingle road to a cobblestone road and then eventually to the tarmac road. All the locals were beautiful and waved at us . we had the bikes for two hours and were told this first hill would take us this long. We did it in 40minutes so we decided to go to the opposite hill and compare the views. We went over the Sanfransisco bridge to a cobblestone road. This went up and up and up, there were lots of u turns and steep shingly bits , i loved every minute of it. We climbed higher and higher until we were in the clouds. The temperature dropped and we continued through the mist until Nickys fingers could accelerate no more. The bikes had a thumb gas accelerator so after about five minutes our hands were sore, after two hours they were able to push no more. We turned around , after a close encounter with some barking dogs, and made our way down. This is when i realised Nicky´s bike was a crap... her brakes were not that good so she was skidding a bit. not heaps but enough for me to think that mine were better. Her bike eventually broke down and she hoped on back of mine. We ditched hers on the side of the hill and made our way back to the hire place...we made it back with 3minutes to spare on our 2hour limit. They saw us ride up on one bike and just said ´how far away is it´. This kinda thing appears to happen all the time. We told them 10minutes up the hill and they said, ´thats fine´.
This story does not give any justice to all the fun that was had on those bikes. and dont fret...we had helmets :D

We arrived back and claire and katrina were not back from paragliding. So we went for a coffee and came back . Havent seen them yet, we can assume that they were able to go , good weather conditions apparently. Im sure theyll tell us all about there amazing adventures in good time.
Bring on tomorrow, River Rafting!
