Valparaiso y Reñaca

Just got back from a mid-week weekend away to Valparaiso and Reñaca. Bussed to Valparaiso then got a crazy taxi ride to the hostel (the driver didnt know where to go and kept stopping at petrol stations coz his tyre was flat) got there and we were the only ones staying , not the nicest hostel but were out all day so it didnt matter.
Walked all around the town, its amazing, a huge port city where all the navy ships are and so theres amazing Chilean Marines walking around everywhere, what more could a girl want :D) haha. the city is a weird mix of really old slum/shacks and really fancy houses and hotels, and the weirdest thing about it is that theres not really suburbs, theyr just all mixed together, one house might be falling down and the next spectacularly expensive looking. lots of colours because its an ´artist city ´apparently, and heaps of wall meurals. so many stray dogs you wouldnt beleive, there were heaps of notices spraypainted around about stray dog genocide planned for the near future. mad me sad. i want pat them all but Claire says no... and theyr usually scratching so i wont. went for dinner at an amazing resturant in a courtyard up a cable car and down some steps, ill show photos in the near future. Bussed to Reñaca today. beachside town/huge city, that has a swimmable beach but the waves were huge and the water was cold...i just paddled. got sunburnt on my legs...twil be hard to sleep tonight. Now at Paula´s family house , a friend of a friend of katrina´s... such a nice place. theyr so generous and amazing. swimming pool and pool table, internet and playstation. this trip so far is just a holiday. hehe.

the people here in chile are all so friendly and interesting , this has to be my favourite place :D ,,, so far. Apparently the Argintinians are even more beautiful than the Chileans!

Sorry for lack of spell check, nO TiME

The Departure

We leave for Auckland on the 27th at 8am. So if theres any friends in Auckland that would like to hang out with us for our 7 hour wait they should email me :D

We leave Chile on the 30th April, not the 20th, as the previous post says.

I got back from Surfer's Paradise yesterday. I had loads of fun in the smothering summer heat. The waves were big, the wildlife was exciting and the Neil Young was at it's best. There should be more photos of these events on facebook soon if the computer cooperates.

And so, anyone is welcome to come along and check out the photos of various things that we may encounter.. (im counting on monkeys of any/every variety).

This blog may also contain other things.

I read The Island of Dr Moreau today...it was amazing.
